a tree that holds a stick

Long-legged shadows and golden hues, the woods lit from the west with evening sun. A rare sight for a morning woodland walker familiar with easterly light.

That Hornbeam still holds the stick placed over a year ago, a visual signpost to a past experience.

Warm westerly sunlight beaming through oak leaves – a welcome distraction from the pain of the neck and knee.
